Assembly Copilot is deployed on several use cases which involve engine, battery pack, car door, front and rear wind-shield, and trunk or engine compartment assembly. The video showcases a demo which is available in our Seattle showroom, and mirrors some of our factory line deployments. Most of these deployments typically involve these sub-assemblies or entire car assembly moving on a conveyor belt. Copilot natively supports such moving assembly lines, as well as multiple camera deployments.

Production managers often worry about missing components in the packages that leave the factory floor. Copilot’s step tracking technology is the perfect fit to ensure that an operators placed all relevant parts into the kit before packing it.
Assembly Copilot is deployed on complex use cases involving small assemblies. Here a planetary gear assembly is built which involves multiple layers of bearing balls, carriers and greasing. Note how it would be impossible to track such a process with merely human skeletal tracking, because the steps in this process are all performed on a tiny spatial region i.e. the planetary gear box. In these situations our proprietary technology saves the day by finely tracking human body as well as objects including tools, parts, and assemblies that the operator interacts with
Assembly Copilot works on sophisticated electronics device assembly, involving a large number of steps. Here we showcase a real medium-volume process deployed on a Shenzen factory line. Note how the system is able to track and distinguish even fairly subtle steps.
Assembly Copilot has also been applied to hardware use cases involving small components. The key to successful deployments in these cases lie in positioning the camera such that it is able to observe all the steps that need to be tracked, as well as a standardized process where parts are picked from fixed locations. This video additionally showcases the object detection capability of the platform which is valuable in some situations to disambiguate similar looking steps.
Assembly Copilot is deployed on a bench top assembly process where a gas filtration sub-assembly is being built. This sub-assembly in-turn fits into large water jet cutting systems. The video shows how the system highlights individual missed steps as the assembly is being performed, and tracks as these missed steps are completed.
